Here is a good place to learn, or tell others, how to do something on this web site. If you struggle to figure something out, there are probably others who are, or will be, also struggling with the same problem. Leave a comment in this forum topic to let others know what you figured out.
How To Blog
To blog, you have to be logged in, of course. Then click on the menu item at the left "Create Content". Then click on "Blog Entry". Enter a title and the body of your blog post. At the bottom of the page are two buttons, "Preview" and "Submit". Preview let's you see what your post will look like, before you finalize it, by pressing the Submit button. Note that you MUST push the SUBMIT button for your entry to be on the web site. That's all there is to it. Now, if you're blogging, let a web site adminstrator, Richard, Steve, Kaedden or me, that you would like to be added to the blog menu.
We need website tools
I am loving the content manager. As I am sure you can tell by my rampant blogging and news articles posted. We need a Links button and content page, a photo log, and a file share location where we can do things like put up brochures and fliers that anyone can grab and download and reprint. Anywho just food for thought... Well the little boy is finally sleeping soundly again so I think I am finally going to catch some Z's myself.

It is just that, well, it lacks... color... pictures... logo... a Mission Statement page on the cover... just an observation... if we want people to come back and keep using it help us help you make it look good! How to create a Menu Item
Administrators have the ability to create menu items on the left. A menu item can be created for any link within the website, or even link to pages outside the BSECKC.ORG web site. When editing a page, there is a section titled: Menu Settings. Expanding this section, if it's not already expanded, shows Title, Description, Parent Item, and Weight. The title is what will show in the menu. The description is what shows when your mouse cursor hovers over the menu item. Parent item is where it will go in the menu. We have a menu called "Our Menu" that is placed at the top left section of the site. That is the menu structure to use any thing you want in the site's menu. Always place menu item here, under some other entry that is already in "Our Menu.
Not everything needs a menu entry. Most forum items and blog entries should not have a menu item. They can be found other ways. Only primary items of navigation should be on the menu.
It's fairly easy to create menu items once you know the basics.
Howto Comment
First off, you must be logged in to the web site to comment on a forum topic or blog post.
To comment on a forum topic, just click on on the "Add new comment" link near the bottom of the original post. You can also comment on a comment by clicking the "reply" link below the comment to which you want to reply. This will "thread" the comments so that they make sense.
As with all postings, you can click on the link "enable rich-text" just below the comment or body area.
If you need more clarification than this, just reply to this comment, then, oh wait, then you will have it figured out by then. :-)
